Your gift to Carousel Players is an investment in the youth of Niagara. We applaud the generous members, donors, corporate and government partners who have helped us to bring imaginative and entertaining theatre to children in the Niagara region and schools in Ontario.
We invite you to make a charitable contribution today to Carousel Players. You can make an online donation to Carousel Players directly through Canada Helps. Or call us at 905-682-8326.

What it costs to bring theatre to young audiences
Your contribution will help introduce children to live professional theatre. Schools pay up to $550 per show. Donations from individuals, corporations, foundations and government grants help us make up the difference between what the schools can pay and the real costs of professional theatre. That gap can be $35,000 to $40,000 per tour. Help us make shared experiences of arts financially accessible to every child.
Your gift makes all of this possible:
It costs about $150 for a week’s worth of gas to visit 10 schools.
To send a youth to summer camp for one week is $175. These camps attract over 100 students from ages 5 to 14 years.
$200 covers artists fees to do a school workshop in 4 classrooms for up to 100 children.
A typical show props budget is $500 to $1000 plus $1500 in labour to build or buy them.
The cost to donate a performance to a school is $550.
Your support helps make it possible to:
• Provide new theatre experiences to over 20,000 children at over 100 performances in Niagara and Ontario schools and theatres in St. Catharines, Hamilton, Halifax and London.
• Offer arts enrichment experiences for hundreds of children in Niagara through Youth Outreach programs like Commotion Youth Theatre, Niagara Artists in the Classroom and Summer Theatre Camp at the Courthouse.
• Develop and produce three new plays for children in our 2011-2012 season.
• Provide training and mentorship opportunities behind the scenes at Carousel for volunteers and students.
• Promote an active downtown theatre space for 10 Niagara performing arts companies at the Sullivan Mahoney Courthouse Theatre, managed by Carousel Players.
