Peg and the Yeti is an adaptation of Kenneth Oppel’s children’s book that features a brave young girl named Peg who sets out on a great adventure to climb Mount Everest. She travels across the world by boat, by train, and by water buffalo until she reaches the Himalayas. After dodging an avalanche, she befriends a mysterious Yeti who helps her reach the top of the mountain.

Peg boldly embraces the beauty of the world around her and the value of the people she meets. Led by Peg’s parents, the audience participates in the expedition by creating the imaginary events and places along the way.

Christine is mad at Joey, her boyfriend. She suspects he knows something about a racial incident in their neighbourhood and he’s not telling. He’d rather talk about basketball, their upcoming romantic getaway or complain about homework. As the truth is revealed, both Joey and Christine must come to terms with their relationship, their beliefs, their culture and identity.

This play is an honest portrait of a young high school couple as they face issues of dating, trust, family pressures and prejudice. It encourages teens to examine their values, talk about racism and communicate their feelings about doing the right thing.
