Marnie is a 9 year old would-be astronaut. She secretly builds a spaceship in her basement but gets caught. Much to her amazement, she doesn’t get in trouble. Instead, her family actually helps her finish the job. In a surprising turn of events, Marnie and her family find themselves in a truly remarkable flight through space into the unknown. This heart-warming and funny play follows the adventures of an imaginative and colourful young girl as she discovers the importance of family.

Peg and the Yeti is an adaptation of Kenneth Oppel’s children’s book that features a brave young girl named Peg who sets out on a great adventure to climb Mount Everest. She travels across the world by boat, by train, and by water buffalo until she reaches the Himalayas. After dodging an avalanche, she befriends a mysterious Yeti who helps her reach the top of the mountain. Peg boldly embraces the beauty of the world around her and the value of the people she meets. Led by Peg’s parents, the audience participates in the expedition by creating the imaginary events and places along the way.

Public performances at Sullivan Mahoney Courthouse Theatre, Box Office 905-682-8326 Christine is mad at Joey, her boyfriend. She suspects he knows something about a racial incident in their neighbourhood and he’s not telling. He’d rather talk about basketball, their upcoming romantic getaway or complain about homework. As the truth is revealed, both Joey and Christine must come to terms with their relationship, their beliefs, their culture and identity. This play is an honest portrait of a young high school couple as they face issues of dating, trust, family pressures and prejudice. It encourages teens to examine their values, talk about racism and communicate their feelings about doing the right thing.
There’s a Mouse in My House by Carrie Costello Adapted from the book by Sheree Fitch Directed by Pablo Felices-Luna
Performances at the Artscape Wychwood Barns, Aaron discovers a mouse in his house. His normally fearless mother jumps up on the table and sends him down into the basement to get rid of it. The brave young mouse uses toys, word games and active participation by the audience to convince Aaron to let her stay. In the end, they both gain a friend. Carousel Players is thrilled to be presented by Theatre Direct and to be returning to Toronto with our Dora Award nominated production. This engaging play for children inspires creativity, imaginative play and promotes storytelling. Young audiences will continue to enjoy this story about tolerance, character development and children solving their own problems.
